SI Chico receives Senate Resolution

Soroptimist International of Chico received a Senate Resolution from Senator Jim Nielsen’s office

Friday, May 29th, 2015 Soroptimist International of Chico (SI Chico) was visited by the office of Senator Jim Nielsen to receive a Senate Resolution for their achievement in reaching their 85th anniversary milestone.

“This means a lot to our club. We are so proud of our history and all that we do for the community and abroad. It is nice to have this kind of recognition.” Says Gayle Aylward, SI Chico Club President

Resolved by Senator Nielsen and Assembly Member James Gallagher. That they congratulate Soroptimist International of Chico on its 85th anniversary, commend the organization for the outstanding contributions it has made both in the local community and abroad, and extend sincere best wishes for its continues success in the future.

Senator Nielsen was particularly thrilled when the members attending told him about the work they do to help facilitate positive, healthy growth amongst women and children to help steer them on the right path in life as that is one of Nielsen’s passions as well.

He was also impressed to know that SI Chico is the largest Soroptimist club in the US and the 2nd largest in the world boasting over 115 members.
