February 2016 Scholarship and Awards Recipients

An inspiring afternoon honoring our exceptional Scholarship and Award Recipients.

On February 19th, Soroptimist International of Chico awarded scholarships to five talented young ladies who are committed to achieving their academic goals and who demonstrate potential to be successful in their future career paths.

The Butte College Scholarships will be presented to Kayla Bentley (working toward her BSN degree) and Lydia Altman (planning to pursue a career in Engineering or Architecture).

From CA State University, Chico, the IGU Award will be given to Andres Rodriguez Bergsneider who is studying Mechatronic Engineering and planning to pursue a career in Environmental Sustainability.

The Dr. Valene Smith Soroptimist Graduate Fellowship will go to Jingwei "Mel" Zhang (an MBA candidate) and the AGE Award goes to Gloria Cannelora who is currently doing an internship as part of the Masters in Social Work degree.
