President’s Message

Feb 2017If you want to make a difference in the world then you've come to the right place!

Soroptimist International's mission is to improve the lives of women and girls. Our club, SI Chico, has been just doing just that 87 years. From volunteering to do hands-on work to providing scholarships, our club is empowering women and girls in our community and around the world. AND we have fun doing it!

Last year, for example, we partnered with the Boys and Girls Club to provide a safe place for children to decompress emotionally by opening the Serenity Center. This year we're looking to Erase the Stigma of mental illness.

There are those who live with mental illness and are furthered burdened to keep their diagnosis private, for fear of judgment and lack of opportunities. Today, mental illness is strongly associated with some of the drug addiction and homelessness in our country.

This year, we Soroptimist hope to bring our campaign of Mental Health Awareness to our community and begin to eliminate the stigma and prejudice related to mental illness.

For more information look over our website and join us or give me a call at 530-643-7496.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Natalie Conrad
President, Soroptimist International of Chico 2017|2018
