American Cancer Society Relay for Life

Participate in the annual American Cancer Society”s Relay for Life fundraising event, forming teams to walk 24-hour laps.

ARC Gift Wrapping

Participate in the gift wrapping booth at the Chico Mall during the holiday season in support of The ARC of Butte County (serving the developmentally disabled).

Beverly Manor Convalescent Home

Initiated weekly Bingo games and fresh fruit delivery for residents.

Bidwell Park Entrance

Adopted the main Bidwell Park entrance at 4th and Cypress Streets in Chico in 2008, planting a variety of shrubs and colorful flowers to beautify this gateway to the park.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butte County

Raised funds for the local Big Brothers Big Sisters club. 2009/10 SI/Chico President Linda Dye ran for “Big Citizen,” a major fundraising activity.

Butte County Library

Provided funding to keep the Chico Branch of the Butte County Library open on Saturdays during a two-year period when library doors were closed weekends due to budget constraints.

Chico Boys & Girls Club

Sponsored DragonFly Quest (year-round hands-on science and math program) through a gift of $5,000 to the Chico Boys & Girls Club. In 2005 the club served over 1,000 children in Chico and Paradise.

Chico Friends of the Library

Jesus Center Serving

Seeds of Learning – Sewing Project, Nicaragua in Dario, Nicaragua

Since 1990, Soroptimist International of Chico has supported the Seeds of Learning Center in Nicaragua through financial and equipment donations. The Learning Center teaches students (women and girls) sewing skills so they can work in a factory or make garments for themselves and their families.
