All new members have a “sponsor” (usually the person who recommended you as a member to the club). If you don’t know someone personally to be your sponsor, we will gladly have a member fill that role for you. A sponsor will be there for you to answer questions, introduce you to other members and help you get off to a positive start. Feel free to contact the Membership Committee at any time with questions if your sponsor isn’t available.
There are two ways to learn more about our club:
1. Join us at a weekly club meeting
Join us Wednesdays at noon at Chico Elks Lodge, 1705 Manzanita Avenue. Learn more about our club from members, discover what our weekly meetings entail, and get to know individual members.
2. Getting To Know Us (GTKU)
A GTKU is an informal meeting in a relaxed atmosphere where we tell you about Soroptimist of Chico (SI/Chico). You will learn the history of SI/Chico, the different awards and recognitions we give out every year, about our different committees and what they do, and what our annual dues are.
The purpose of our GTKU is for you to meet us and to make an educated decision about whether to join our club. Of course we hope that after attending our GTKU, you decide to join Soroptimist of Chico.
If you are not comfortable coming to a meeting or a GTKU, feel free to contact us, and one of our Membership Volunteers will get in touch with you.
