Hello, I am Sharadin Castaldo, President of SI Chico. I have been a member since 1997 after my sponsor, Louise Bullard, introduced my mother & me to Soroptimist. Carol Braziel was the president my first year and I laughed so much that I knew this was the service club for me! I now have many Soroptimist sisters who are also my friends. I am not amazed by the money that we raise at our main fundraiser the Home, Garden & Antique Show because of all the passionate, caring, Soroptimist-driven women in this club. I love to be apart of this club by giving our funds away to the women & girls who are in the most need. Empowering women & girls throughout the world, Soroptimist Rock!

I am an AVP/Loan Officer for Butte Community Bank, specializing in small business and commercial real estate loans. I had been invited to join SI Chico a couple of times, finally attending my first meeting in late 2000. What was I waiting for? That was a question I couldn't answer. This is an absolutely dynamic, diverse group of women gathered together for the same purpose – “Best for Women.” This is a great way to contribute to our local community as well as national and international interests. Also, the business connections and true friendships I have gained in my membership will be with me for a lifetime. I truly enjoy my membership as well as serving on the Board and look forward to being involved for a very long time.

I love being a Soroptimist! I have been one since February 1989 and have now held all offices and most committee chairs including President in 1995-1996. What a wonderful learning experience to be part of an organization of such dynamic and caring women for the past 17 years. I am always amazed at how well we are able to adapt to changing times and continue to serve the local and global community in ever increasing ways. I am the office manager at Lotspeich & Co. Accountancy Co.

Hello, I’m Kit Tzikas I am a Credit Analyst with Premier West Bank I have been in the banking industry since 1982. I joined Soroptimist International of Chico in December of 2004. I can’t believe how fast the time has gone, I have made many friends, worked hard on committees and have enjoyed every minute of it. I am on the board serving as Corresponding Secretary for Soroptimist of Chico 2007-2008. I have two grown children a Son and Daughter who are out of the house so I spend my extra time entertaining and having fun! I was born and raised in Chico and learned at an early age to always give back to your community. I truly enjoy my membership as well as serving on the Board and look forward to being involved for a long time to come.

Hi, I am Lise Smith-Peters and am the Volunteer Coordinator for Bidwell Park, City of Chico. I love getting folks involved in taking care of our beautiful crown jewel, including Soroptimists who plant flowers and weed the park's front gate flower beds!  In the summer of 2004, my family and I moved from south Texas to Chico where I was development director for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the North Valley.  The Club asked me to join Soroptimists International of Chico to network and it was one of the best things that could have happened to me.  I have made some very dear friends who welcomed me to a new city.  I love that our service club helps so many women and children in need locally and has a voice in promoting international human rights.   I was born and raised in Ft. Worth, Texas where I received my BA in international relations from Texas Christian University and then I earned my MA in political science from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA.  I have sailed boats since the age of 6 and enjoy pleasure sailing as well as racing (I have a Flying Scot daysailer now).   My wonderful family is made up of my son Will who is 12,  my daughter Marley 9, and my husband Bruce who teaches at CSU in the history department. Our dog Rosalyn helps keep me in shape with walks through the park and our pet rat Elmo is entertaining.

I'm Gayle Aylward, and I'm very pleased to be part of this fabulous group of women that make Soroptimist International of Chico an organization of leadership. It has been the avenue I needed to put energy back into the community that has supported my business and family for over 20 years. I was born in Chico, raised in Weaverville, then returned to Chico for college and like so many, chose to stay. I have owned and operated a State Farm insurance agency for 21 year. I enjoy my clients and being their insurance advisor. My husband, Tom, and I have two boys, Tony, age 17, and Charlie, age 14. When I'm not working, I'm usually attending the boy's activities, gardening at home, or recently, learning to play tennis.
